CM Punk has not appeared on WWE programming since the Raw after WrestleMania 42, but he is reportedly making a play to return in the near future. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestleTalk),
WWE star CM Punk has been off TV since WrestleMania and could be slated for a move to SmackDown for a blockbuster feud.
CM Punk is set to return to WWE programming sometime soon, and there certain feuds and opponents we need to see when he's back.
However, since then, Punk has remained absent from WWE television without an explanation. Despite his absence, he has been regularly spotted in the gym, working out. Now, as his absence continues, Punk made a shocking UFC return, not physically but virtually.
There may be some clarity on CM Punk’s status with WWE. Punk hasn’t appeared on television since losing the World Heavyweight championship to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 42 in April. Rumors started to swirl online that Punk and WWE weren’t on the same page regarding his future.
There are plans for CM Punk to move over to the SmackDown roster, but his next WWE appearance still might end up happening on Raw.
